Ingredients

4 slices toasted bread
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/3 cup raisins
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 cup sugar
few grains salt
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
slivered almonds

Instructions

Spread toasted bread with butter or margarine and cut into quarters. Place toast buttered side up in a greased 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Sprinkle raisins over toast. Mix eggs, sugar, salt, evaporated milk, boiling water, and vanilla. Pour over toast and let stand for 10 minutes. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on top and sprinkle slivered almonds on top of that. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes or until knife inserted near edge comes out clean. Serve warm or cold.
