Grandma Reppetto's Potato Soup

Ingredients

Potatoes
Celery
Onion
Milk
Bacon
Shredded cheese
Butter

Instructions

Peel and chop potatoes. Chop onions and celery. Place potatoes, onions and celery in a large pot and cover with water. Cook mixture until the potatoes are mushy. Drain water and lightly hand mash the potatoes. Add milk to pot until soupy (I use 1% milk; but the soup is creamier the higher the fat content in the milk). Add butter, salt and pepper to taste. Cook bacon and chop into small pieces and add to soup. Serve while hot - can serve with shredded cheese to be sprinkled in the soup.
