Kenney's Crispy Chocolate Nut Bars

Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1 cup white corn syrup
2 cups chunky peanut butter
2 tablespoons margarine
5 cups rice cereal
1 12 ounce package semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

In a 3 quart pan, combine the sugar and the corn syrup. Cook and stir over medium heat for five minutes to dissolve the sugar. Remove from heat; blend in the chunky peanut butter and the margarine. Stir in the rice cereal. Spread the mixture in a 9x13 inch pan. In a pan, melt the chocolate chips over low heat. Spread the chocolate on top of the bars. Chill for one hour. When ready to serve, allow the pan to set out for 1 to 1 1/2 hours before cutting.
